Creative Writing Schools In California
UCLA? Is this enough? Maybe UCSD or UCSB?

I want to go to UCLA. It took no AP or honors classes as a freshman, but the following year (second year) I'm taking AP Euro, chemistry and Spanish regular, honors geometry and honors English. My first year I am taking AP U.S. history, Spanish Regular and Physics, Algebra 11/Trigonometry Honors, AP Language and composition, Photography, Health for Life, my last year I would be taking AP Literature and connection, Honors Pre-Calculus, Honors Human Anatomy / Physiology, AP Economics'm taking next semester AP U.S. government, I am also taking a class of AOC (a college class in the community), creative writing. Also for the 3 years I would be taking Junior National Honors Society (activity of community service) and Yearbook. What are my chances of getting into? I know I can make the grade point average and SAT and ACT. I will also very pleasant high school in southern California.

Hi, I think you have the skills to be accepted at UCLA, if you plan to take classes just listed. But do not overload yourself! when I was a sophomore also had euro AP chemistry, honors French and trigonometry. After the third year we were AP story, French (4th year of independent study), the language of AP, Honors Pre Calc, AP biology. Then, during my Last year I took AP Literature, AP Chemistry, Physics and guess what, I'm also in honor of the company and recently found out that I was accepted into the UCLA. =] What with classes just mentioned, I think they have a high chance of getting in addition, schools evaluate students not only in their plans studies and SAT scores (although it is an important aspect), there was also its activities (sports, clubs, community service), testing, etc. But is you first year? If so I advise you not think so much in college now. Also, juggling with many AP classes will start running very, very difficult. Remember that you are still in high school, try to have some fun too.

This unique and comprehensive text offers an original approach to teaching creative writing by exploring ideas, giving advice, and explaining workshop activities and has many contributors from some of today’s most popular children’s authors including: Jacqueline Wilson, Roger McGough, Philip Pullman, Malorie Blackman and David Almond.<BR<EMCreating Writers</EMis a practical writing manual for teachers to use with upper primary and lower secondary level pupils that covers poetry, fiction and non-fiction.<STRONG’This will make a splendid resource: comprehensive, practical and thorough. I can see it being useful, not just to teachers in schools but to anyone involved in creative writing at any level. I think that using ‘real writers’ makes the book not just interesting in itself but also gives it an authentic feel and practical appeal. Letting the writers themselves say this is how I really work, this is what I really do makes it far more relevant than the usual lists of advice in How to books.’</STRONG- <EMCelia Rees</EM<BR<BR<STRONG’I'm extremely impressed by <EMCreating Writers</EMand I refer to it and recommend it during school visits and talks. It really explores its subject, and offers an important, beautifully researched and well-expressed alternative to shallow, quick-fix approaches to creative writing.’</STRONG- <EMDavid Almond</EM
